…ADC Candidate Says US President Backs Targeted Production Subsidy for Nigeria
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has declared that United States President Donald Trump is backing his proposed policy to restore fuel subsidy in Nigeria if he wins the 2027 presidential election .
CDA News Nigeria reports that Atiku made the claim in a statement issued by his spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, on Sunday, titled “Atiku boasts of stakeholders, Trump support on fuel subsidy.” The former vice president insisted that his proposal would focus on supporting domestic production and refining while making fuel more affordable for Nigerians .

Meanwhile, the Presidency has described the proposal as “archaic” and warned it could lead to job losses and cripple the economy .
