LAGOS, NIGERIA — Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has finally addressed the swirling controversy surrounding his on-screen role with actress and reality star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam, amid speculation that their professional collaboration contributed to tensions in her marriage to Teddy .
Speaking during an interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe dismissed rumours suggesting he was romantically involved with the married actress following their roles in the 2025 YouTube film Love In Every Word and the recently released romantic drama Without You.
The actor revealed that he met Bambam for the first time on the movie set and took deliberate precautions to respect her marriage, including discussing boundaries before filming any scenes requiring physical contact.
“Before I touched her, I asked her if there was any way I could touch her that her husband wouldn’t like or that might cause problems at home,” Arukwe explained during the interview. He stressed that his question was meant to ensure nothing in the movie would create issues at home.
However, after the movie was released, online speculators began claiming the two actors were dating and had slept together. “That movie was the first time I had ever met her. But people started saying we slept together and were dating, which was completely false,” Arukwe added, debunking the rumours entirely.
This is not the first time Arukwe has addressed the issue. In February 2026, he had threatened legal action against an X user who alleged that Bambam was pregnant for him and that Teddy A had divorced her as a result. At the time, Arukwe warned that a specific account spreading false rumours had been identified and would be made a “scapegoat” to deter others from chasing clout at the expense of damaging reputations.
The rumours gained traction amid growing public scrutiny of Bambam and Teddy A’s marriage. Speculation intensified after fans noticed the couple no longer follow each other on Instagram, and when Teddy A shared solo photos holding a red rose on Valentine’s Day with a cryptic caption.
Neither Bambam nor Teddy A has publicly confirmed any marital crisis. Meanwhile, their on-screen collaborations continue to generate divided reactions from fans—some praising their professionalism, others suggesting the timing of such romantic roles is sensitive amid the rumoured marital tension.
Arukwe, for his part, has remained unfazed by online critics. When a fan suggested he avoid working with Bambam until her marital issues were resolved, he simply replied, “That’s why you’re not me”.
