The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched a scathing attack on Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, accusing him of political obsession and poor leadership.
Wike, speaking during a media chat on Arise Television Tuesday night, monitored by CDA News Nigeria, said the Kwara governor has abandoned governance for gossip and blame games.
“Take, for example, the Governor of Kwara; I saw him there, so unfortunate. Anytime he sees a snake, it’s Wike. Anytime he sees a reptile, it’s Wike. Any day he doesn’t eat, it’s Wike. I have never seen people who will give time to gossip more than the work they have been given,” Wike fired.
The FCT Minister accused AbdulRazaq of destroying his own political structure by unilaterally dropping all National Assembly members from the state.
“He has three serving senators; he changed all of them. He has House of Reps members; he changed all of them. If you are a good politician, you will call them and say, okay, I will give you this; I will tell Mr President you will get Minister and all that. He did nothing,” he said.
Wike warned that such poor leadership will push Kwara APC leaders to opposition parties like ADC.
“You have ADC and others; they are not supporting the President. What happens if they join those parties? When you can’t solve your local problems, you start calling Mr President,” Wike added.
He also defended PDP leaders supporting President Bola Tinubu, saying it does not mean they will not field candidates for other positions.
“Soludo is supporting Mr President; does it mean he will not present candidates? Adeleke is supporting Mr President; does it mean he will not present candidates in Osun? Alex Otti is supporting Mr President; will the Labour Party not produce candidates? So what are they saying?”
