Wike Reports Major Drop in Crime Rates Across Nigeria’s Capital

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced a significant decrease in crime across Abuja.

Speaking at a media briefing on Friday, Wike commended security agencies for their efforts. He stated that while isolated incidents still occur, data confirms that crime has “drastically reduced” in recent months.

The Minister directly challenged claims of rising insecurity, asking critics to provide credible statistics to support their assertions.

“All over the world, every day you wake up, crime is being committed,” Wike noted. “So when you talk about a spike, what is your statistics?”

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property through continued collaboration with security forces.
