The FCT Minister and a National Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike, on Friday, April 17, 2026, paid a working visit to the party’s National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza, Abuja, where he declared that the PDP is fully united and prepared to rescue Nigeria in the 2027 general elections.
Wike, who was received by members of the party’s newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) led by National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, used the occasion to rally party faithful and dismiss claims of irreconcilable internal divisions. He described the PDP as the only viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The PDP is back. We are united, focused, and ready to take over the reins of leadership in 2027. Nigerians are suffering, and only the PDP has the capacity, experience, and vision to restore hope and good governance,” Wike stated.
The former Rivers State governor commended the new NWC for its efforts to reposition the party and urged all members to close ranks, resolve outstanding disputes, and work collectively toward electoral victory.
In his response, PDP National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed thanked Wike for his visit and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to reclaiming power, describing the FCT Minister as a pillar of the party’s structure.
The visit is seen as a strategic move to solidify the PDP’s internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 polls.
