Wike’s Camp Sweeps Rivers APC Reps Primaries — Speaker Amaewhule, 10 Others Clinch Tickets

The political influence of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has once again been stamped boldly across Rivers State, as Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, has won the APC primary election and been declared the party’s flag-bearer for the Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency. Daily Post Nigeria

All aspirants who participated in the Rivers State primaries are loyalists of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, with consensus achieved in most federal constituencies while direct primaries were adopted in others.

Prior to the exercise, the APC disqualified four loyalists of Governor Siminalayi Fubara — including serving House of Representatives members Awaji Inombek Abiante and Boma Goodhead — from contesting the primaries.

Amaewhule, contesting the Obio/Akpor seat, is set to replace Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kingsley Chinda.

The primaries were monitored by INEC officials and APC leaders, including the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka. LEADERSHIP Newspapers
