Governors from Northern states and senior Federal Executive Council members converged in Kaduna on Sunday to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the gathering, held at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Conference Centre, brought together Governors Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe and Babagana Zulum of Borno, alongside Defence Minister Bello Matawalle and Housing Minister Mustapha Rabe Darma, as part of engagement with the Northern Nigerian Women Ulama across the 19 Northern states and FCT.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sani said the Northern Women Ulama, representing millions of women, had endorsed Tinubu for a second term based on his administration’s achievements in education, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and skills development, insisting the endorsement was not sentimental but performance-driven.
He cited NELFUND and TVET dashboard data showing Northern Nigeria had benefited over 60 percent from federal education interventions, describing Tinubu as detribalised and committed to one Nigeria without discrimination.
Sani dismissed attempts to frame 2027 along regional lines as outdated, urging stakeholders to focus on development and inclusion rather than sentiment, while calling for the endorsement message to be taken to wards and local governments across the North.
CDA News Nigeria will continue monitoring political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.
