Former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad has called on the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to retain Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle following Nigeria’s semi-final exit at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a post on X, Ahmad expressed confidence in Chelle’s understanding of the team’s technical dynamics and argued that with continued support, the Eagles would “undoubtedly dominate the continent” in future tournaments.
Nigeria was eliminated by hosts Morocco in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regulation and extra time.
Chelle’s future remains under review by the NFF, with a decision expected after the tournament concludes.
