DSS Arrests Sea Pirates, Foils Ship Hijack and Kidnap Plot

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a group of suspected sea pirates and thwarted a planned hijack of a crude oil vessel along Nigeria’s coastal waters.

According to an official statement, the suspects were intercepted during an intelligence-driven operation aimed at preventing the hijacking of the ship and the abduction of its crew members.

The operation, which took place in recent days, followed credible intelligence on the movement and plans of the pirate network. No crew member was harmed during the incident.

This successful intervention reinforces ongoing collaborative efforts among security agencies to secure the nation’s maritime corridors and combat piracy in the Gulf of Guinea.
