The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has successfully screened 115 aspirants vying for seats in the State House of Assembly, marking a significant step toward the party’s upcoming primaries.
The screening exercise, conducted by a committee appointed by the APC State Working Committee, evaluated aspirants across all senatorial districts in the state. Officials confirmed that eligible candidates met the party’s constitutional requirements before being cleared to proceed.
A senior party official described the turnout as a clear reflection of growing confidence in the APC’s internal democratic process, adding that the exercise was conducted transparently and without bias.
Successful aspirants are now expected to participate in the primaries scheduled to hold in the coming weeks, as the party positions itself for the 2027 general elections.
Political analysts say the large number of aspirants signals a competitive internal landscape within the APC in Adamawa, a state considered a key battleground in Nigeria’s northeastern region.
