After Radio Outburst, APC Chieftain Fires Back: “Aguocha, Account for ₦100bn or Step Aside”

Following Hon. Obi Aguocha’s radio response to criticism comparing his legislative record unfavourably to that of APC governorship candidate Chinedum Orji, prominent APC chieftain Comrade Anyaragbu Chinweuba has issued a sharp rejoinder, describing the lawmaker’s reaction as a tantrum-fuelled distraction from legitimate questions of accountability.

Anyaragbu dismissed Aguocha’s radio appearance as an escape route, insisting the lawmaker owes Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency a transparent scorecard on over ₦100 billion in constituency development funds — with nothing visible to show after three years.

“Rather than addressing his stewardship, Aguocha descended into tantrums,” Anyaragbu stated. “The constituency deserves answers, not emotional outbursts.”

The APC chieftain stressed that Aguocha’s EFCC trial is strictly a court matter — only the judiciary can determine guilt. What constituents demand, he argued, is accountability for public funds and performance across the three core legislative functions of lawmaking, oversight, and constituency development.

Contrasting sharply, Anyaragbu praised Chinedum Orji’s tenure as Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, citing visible legacy projects across all three local government areas comprising the constituency.

“Ikwuano Umuahia is not a training ground for backbenchers or personal assistants,” he declared. “The Obi Wave cannot substitute for a scorecard.”
