Former Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Ahamefule Orji, has dismissed a viral social media report alleging that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided his Umuahia residence and recovered billions of dollars, election materials, gold jewellery, and exotic vehicles.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the denial was contained in an official statement issued by the former governor’s media team following widespread circulation of the claim on social media.
According to the statement, the alleged EFCC operation never took place in Umuahia or at any other residence linked to the former governor. It described the publication as false, malicious, and deliberately designed to mislead the public, damage Chief Orji’s reputation, and create unnecessary panic.
The statement further affirmed that Chief Theodore Orji is in good health and urged members of the public and media organisations to disregard the report and rely only on verified sources of information.
It also stated that the political camp remains focused on supporting the 2027 electoral ambition of Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, the APC candidate for the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, insisting it would not be distracted by what it described as propaganda.
