Osun Senator Fadahunsi Arrives Police Headquarters for Questioning Over ‘Kill’ Remark

OSOGBO — Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi, has arrived at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo for questioning over alleged inciting comments made during an All Progressives Congress campaign rally .

CDA News Nigeria gathered that Fadahunsi arrived at about 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, accompanied by the Commissioner of Police in charge of election and security, Samuel Erale, Channels TV reports . His invitation followed the circulation of a campaign video from an APC rally in Ilesa, in which the senator was allegedly heard speaking in Yoruba in remarks interpreted as urging his supporters to “kill” members of the rival Accord Party .

CDA News Nigeria reports that the Osun State Police Command had on Tuesday directed Fadahunsi to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department for questioning over the video, describing the alleged remarks as threatening, inciting, and capable of heightening tension ahead of Saturday’s governorship election .

The senator, however, has denied the allegations, claiming the video was deliberately edited and that he only spoke of political retaliation through votes rather than physical violence . His appearance at the police command comes just days before the August 15 gubernatorial poll, as security agencies intensify efforts to ensure a peaceful electoral process .
