The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, says President Bola Tinubu takes the feedback of Nigerians seriously before adjusting government policies, CDA News Nigeria reports.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Idris made the remarks in Abuja on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), led by its Director-General, Prof. Ayo Omotayo.
According to the minister, the President’s first question during meetings with him is always about public sentiment on government actions.
“Whenever I sit with him, the first question he asks is: ‘What are Nigerians saying?'” Idris said.
He explained that this habit reflects Tinubu’s willingness to treat governance as an evolving process, one that allows for policy modifications whenever necessary rather than a one-way flow of directives.
Idris added that the President does not merely announce decisions to the public but actively seeks to understand how Nigerians feel about them, describing this as central to the administration’s approach to policymaking.
The minister’s comments come amid continued public debate over the economic reforms of the Tinubu administration, with citizens and analysts routinely weighing in on the pace and impact of government policies nationwide.
CDA News Nigeria will continue to monitor reactions to the minister’s statement.
