US-Based Ex-Member Accuses MFM Leader of Intimidation, Seeks Trump’s Intervention

A former member of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Funke Ashekun, has called for a U.S. investigation into the church’s General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, accusing him of running the ministry “like a mafia organisation.”

In an open letter to President Donald Trump, Ashekun, who worshipped with MFM for nearly 20 years, alleged that Olukoya uses fear, intimidation, and lawsuits to suppress dissent and control members. She claimed to be facing her fifth lawsuit from the church for speaking out.

Ashekun, now based in the U.S., also accused the clergy of enjoying political protection in Nigeria, which he allegedly uses to manipulate the judiciary and police against critics.

Her appeal references President Trump’s recent remarks on Nigeria and religious persecution. There has been no immediate public response from MFM regarding these allegations.
