Nnochiri Calls for Empathy and Action on International Day of Persons with Disabilities
In commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Chief Chukwunma Victor Nnochiri has issued a strong call for greater inclusion, empathy, and actionable support for people living with disabilities.
Nnochiri, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and a frontline contender for the Abia Central Senatorial seat in 2027, emphasized that true societal progress is measured by how it treats its most vulnerable members.
“Today, we stand in solidarity with persons with disabilities. It is not enough to simply acknowledge this day; we must translate empathy into action,” Nnochiri stated. “This means advocating for and implementing policies that ensure accessibility, equal opportunity, and dignity in all spheres of life—education, employment, healthcare, and public infrastructure.”
He highlighted the need for both government and community-led initiatives to break down barriers and combat discrimination, describing inclusion as a collective responsibility.
The statement from the nationalist and humanitarian aligns with his previously recognized advocacy for social justice and grassroots empowerment.
