The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Abia Central, Hon. Emeka Atuma, has urged party members to believe in their candidates and stay united, as governorship candidate Chief Eric Opah unveiled Dr. Godswill Agu Egbe as his running mate.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Atuma spoke at the Abia APC stakeholders’ meeting in Umuahia. He opened by singing a song, which he said was meant to bind members together, and welcomed Opah, his deputy, party officials, lawmakers and stakeholders present.
Atuma expressed confidence in the party’s electoral prospects. “I don’t see any failure fitting into any electoral thing that will happen tomorrow. All we need is to believe in ourselves,” he said.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that he described the party’s candidates as people with capacity, capability and competence. He said they could match anything the state government does, and that the party would present a better blueprint than any promises made during the campaign. “If they think they want to do it naira for naira, we can also match it,” he added.
Appealing to members to remain loyal, he asked where else they were looking if everything they desired politically was in the room, and asked whether anyone was stronger than their candidate.
He also warned members against anti-party dealings. “Any negotiation you make that is against this party, you will also live to see the result in the next four years yourself,” he said.
