Atuma’s Track Record Speaks

Hon. Emeka Atuma, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District, has a robust track record spanning his tenure in the House of Representatives and his time out of office.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that Atuma represented Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency from 2003 to 2007, where he sponsored the bills establishing the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) and the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA). He also attracted the Forestry Research Institute to Okwuta Isieke.

During his time in office, he executed numerous erosion and flood control projects across Umuahia North and South, including Ubakala, Olokoro, and Umuopara. He also facilitated rural electrification, water reticulation, and the construction of 22 motorised boreholes.

Furthermore, he was the first representative in Abia State in the Fourth Republic to hold an empowerment programme, distributing over 100 motorcycles, cars, generators, and start-up packs.

Since leaving office, Atuma has continued to attract development, including the 12-kilometre Ndioru Junction to Ntalakwu road with streetlights and the rebuilding of Ntalakwu Community School. Supporters argue that his consultations across the six LGAs have unsettled opponents, noting his track record makes him the best candidate for the Senate in 2027.
