FG Places 46 on Ebola No-Fly List

The Federal Government has placed 46 individuals exposed to the Ebola virus on a 21-day no-fly list as part of proactive measures to prevent the spread of the disease into the country.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the directive was issued by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, following the rising concerns over the new Ebola variant reported in parts of Africa.

The minister explained that the 46 individuals are currently under strict surveillance and monitoring. The no-fly list restricts them from boarding commercial flights, ensuring they remain accessible to health authorities to monitor their symptoms within the 21-day incubation period.

CDA News Nigeria reports that health officials at all international airports and land borders have been placed on high alert, with enhanced screening protocols activated for inbound travellers.

Prof. Pate urged Nigerians not to panic but to remain vigilant, maintain high personal hygiene, and report any suspicious symptoms to the nearest health facility. He assured the public that the government is fully committed to safeguarding the nation’s health security.
