Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, collapsed in his office on Thursday afternoon and was urgently rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa.
The incident occurred around 1:30 pm, prompting an emergency response. Eyewitnesses reported he was in a serious condition upon arrival at the hospital. Sources indicate the health scare may be cardiac-related, though no official cause has been released.
A source close to the deputy governor cited his demanding work schedule, stating he is “a workaholic” who needs rest. Senator Ewhrudjakpo is now in stable condition and receiving care in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
