Supporters of Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji has strongly rejected recent criticisms directed at the former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, describing the allegations as a campaign of hatred, desperation, and misinformation.
In a statement titled “Politics of Hatred, Desperation and Falsehoods,” Orji’s supporters accused political opponents of engaging in character assassination rather than issue-based politics. They argued that repeated allegations against the former lawmaker do not amount to proven facts and insisted that he remains a respected figure with significant grassroots support across Abia State.
The group further maintained that public offices previously occupied by members of the Orji family were attained through democratic elections and constitutional processes, not through privilege or inheritance.
According to the statement, the continued attacks on Chinedum Orji reflect fears among political rivals over his relevance in the state’s political landscape. They urged political actors to focus on performance, ideas, and policies rather than personal attacks.
The supporters concluded by calling on Abians to evaluate all aspirants based on competence, vision, and their ability to deliver democratic dividends, insisting that the electorate alone should determine who deserves public office.
