Abuja, Nigeria – In a historic and closely contested election, Comrade Babangida Isah Onimisi has been declared the duly elected 10th National President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN). The election, held at the National Elective Congress in Abuja, marks a significant milestone for the largest youth population in the black world.
Widely described by his supporters as a “child of destiny,” Comrade Onimisi’s victory is seen as a reward for his years of quiet, dedicated service. Hailing from Kogi State, he has built a reputation as a selfless, humble, and passionate youth leader committed to building others from the grassroots level.
For so long, Comrade Onimisi has been committed to building other youth leaders and growing the NYCN from the ground up, often without seeking recognition for his numerous achievements,” stated a spokesperson from the youth house. “Today, nature, supported by divinity and humanity, have conspired to reward and uplift him to national and global recognition.”
His election as the new face of the NYCN during the month of October, which coincides with Nigeria’s Independence celebration, adds a symbolic layer to his ascendancy. The entire month has been designated to specially honor and celebrate his journey and contributions.
The announcement has been met with widespread celebration from youth across the nation, with the rallying cry of “Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta!”—the struggle continues, victory is certain.
Fellow youth and stakeholders are encouraged to rally behind the new president as he takes on the mantle of leading Nigeria’s premier youth body into a new era.
