Dickson Declares He’s Neither Obidient Nor Kwankwasiyya, Says He’s Only NDC

The national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has clarified that he does not belong to either the Obidient Movement or the Kwankwasiyya group, stating plainly that his loyalty lies with the NDC alone.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that Dickson made the remarks during an appearance on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” programme on Wednesday.

He explained that while the Obidient and Kwankwasiyya movements maintain their own distinct identities and continue to operate independently, their leading figures, Peter Obi and Kabir Kwankwaso, are contesting the 2027 election as the NDC’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates respectively.

Dickson noted that his working relationship with the duo predates the current alliance, describing decades of partnership across different political camps. He dismissed suggestions of friction within the party, insisting there are no internal battles left to fight.

According to him, the coalition’s focus has now shifted entirely to mobilisation, with all stakeholders expected to take their campaign directly to the Nigerian electorate ahead of the polls.

CDA News Nigeria will continue to monitor developments within the NDC coalition as the 2027 election approaches.
