There was drama at Ihotu Motor Park in Benue State when three suspected kidnappers were reportedly identified by a young woman who claimed to have been abducted by them in the past.
According to eyewitness accounts, the suspects allegedly arrived at the park intending to board a vehicle to Makurdi. However, they reportedly encountered a woman whom they had previously kidnapped and later released after a ransom was paid.
The woman allegedly recognized the suspects and noticed that they were carrying a bag believed to have been taken from her during the abduction. She immediately raised the alarm, attracting the attention of bystanders.
Sources said one of the suspects was held inside a vehicle while two others attempted to flee but were subsequently apprehended by members of the public.
During a search, a Ghana-Must-Go bag containing an estimated ₦11 million was reportedly discovered in the suspects’ possession.
The manager of the motor park reportedly alerted security agencies, prompting personnel of the Nigerian Army and the Police to intervene and take the suspects into custody.
The victim was said to have accompanied security operatives to provide further statements. Reports indicate that the suspects have since been transferred to Makurdi for further investigation.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while investigations continue.
