Ex-Abia Lawmaker Apugo Declares for House of Reps, Seeks APC Ticket

UMUAHIA, ABIA STATE – Former Abia State House of Assembly member, Hon. Chukwudi Apugo, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Apugo made the declaration at his residence in Ibeku East Ward, Umuahia North LGA, during a meeting with the LGA party executives, ward chairmen, and other stakeholders.

He informed the gathering that he is vying for the federal constituency seat, arguing that the turn has come for the Ibeku axis, as Ohuhu has already taken its turn in the rotation arrangement.

“I enjoin all of you to support me and make it work. It is between Ohuhu and Ibeku, and Ohuhu has taken their turn,” Apugo stated.

In response, the Umuahia North LGA Executive Chairman, Hon. Samuel Abel, congratulated the aspirant and wished him well. He advised Apugo to work hard to clinch the party ticket and assured him of full support after the APC primaries.

Other stakeholders present echoed the chairman’s position, pledging their backing for the aspirant once he emerges as the party’s candidate.

The declaration signals growing political activity in Umuahia North as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections.
