FIRS Drives New Tax Era with Nationwide Education Clinics

ABUJA – The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) is leading a nationwide drive to educate taxpayers on Nigeria’s new tax reforms. The initiative aims to build a transparent and modern tax system for the country.

The Abuja edition of the “Emerging Taxpayers’ Tax Clinic” was held on Tuesday, following a successful launch in Lagos. The event brought together hundreds of participants and key institutions.

In his address, FIRS Executive Chairman Dr. Zacch Adedeji stated the reforms are designed to simplify tax compliance and build public trust. He described the clinic as a “bridge between the government and the governed.”

The session provided hands-on guidance for navigating the new tax landscape, focusing on the transition to the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS). Experts were on hand to assist with registration, filing, and other processes.

This nationwide sensitization campaign covers the four new Tax Reform Acts, which represent a major shift in Nigeria’s fiscal policy.
