Former VP Osinbajo Visits Fayose Ahead of 65th Birthday Celebration

LAGOS, NIGERIA – Former Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo visited ex-Governor Ayodele Fayose at his Lagos residence on Saturday ahead of Fayose’s 65th birthday celebration scheduled for November 15, 2025.

Osinbajo explained that he made the special visit because he would be unavailable to attend the actual birthday event next week. During the meeting, the former vice president praised Fayose as “a resilient and steadfast Nigerian, who followed whatever he believed in doggedly.”

The visit brought together two prominent political figures from different party backgrounds, showcasing cordial relations among Nigeria’s political class beyond party affiliations.

Fayose, who served as governor of Ekiti State from 2003-2006 and again from 2014-2018, remains an influential voice in Nigerian politics despite being out of office.

Photographs from the visit showed both leaders sharing warm moments at Fayose’s residence, highlighting the personal relationships that often transcend political differences in the country.
