The Nigeria Police Force has rescued four children after dismantling an alleged child-trafficking ring operating in Niger State.
According to police authorities, the operation followed intelligence gathering that led officers to the suspected syndicate. The rescued children have since been placed under protective care while efforts continue to reunite them with their families.
Police said investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the alleged trafficking network and identify other individuals who may have been involved in the operation.
The suspects arrested in connection with the case are expected to face prosecution upon the conclusion of investigations.
The police reiterated their commitment to combating child trafficking and other forms of human exploitation, urging members of the public to report suspicious activities that could endanger children.
The successful operation has been welcomed by child rights advocates, who called for tougher measures against traffickers and increased public awareness to protect vulnerable children across the country.
