The Ikwuano Development Union Federated (IDUF) has postponed the election of its Youth Wing following unresolved issues that affected preparations for the exercise.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the decision was announced by the National President of IDUF, Chief Sam Eke, during a meeting held yesterday. According to him, the postponement became necessary due to a lingering crisis that was yet to be resolved, making it impracticable to conduct a credible and peaceful election.
To ensure the continued administration of the Youth Wing pending the resolution of the issues, Chief Sam Eke declared Hon. Cokey Lordson Nwachukwu as the Interim Acting President of the IDUF Youth Wing, a position he will occupy until further notice.
The National President urged members of the Youth Wing to remain calm, united, and committed to the objectives of the union while efforts are made to address the concerns that led to the postponement of the election.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the leadership expressed optimism that the outstanding issues would be resolved through dialogue, paving the way for a free, fair, and transparent Youth Wing election at a later date.
