The Mandate 27 Group has made the case for Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, popularly known as “Ikukuoma Abia,” as the representative Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency needs ahead of the 2027 general election.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the group described Orji, a Civil Engineering graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, as bringing a builder’s mindset to governance, having served as Majority Leader and later the 11th Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly from 2019 to 2023.
According to the group, Orji’s tenure as Speaker was marked by his introduction of live streaming of plenary sessions to boost transparency, alongside his “Direct Touch” legacy of boreholes, rebuilt classrooms, scholarships, and empowerment support for women and youths across the constituency.
The group also highlighted his championing of the Abians in Diaspora Commission Law, his role as Abia State Chairman of the City Boy Movement, and recognitions including the Sun Public Service Award and Champion Newspaper’s Most Outstanding Speaker title, arguing these reflect a track record worth rewarding with a National Assembly seat.
Mandate 27 Group insisted Orji’s combination of technical expertise, legislative experience and political access positions him to attract federal projects, jobs and interventions for Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South if elected in 2027.
