“I’ll Support Party My People Want” — Na’Allah

Former Deputy Senate Majority Leader, Senator Bala Na’Allah, has said he remains a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but will support whichever political party his constituents choose ahead of the 2027 general election.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that Na’Allah made the disclosure during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Monday, when asked whether he would back the ruling party in 2027 after withdrawing from the APC senatorial primary in May over allegations that the outcome had been predetermined.

Responding, Na’Allah said his loyalty as a democrat ultimately rests with the wishes of his people, insisting he would not use his political standing to compel them to support a party against their preference.

He said, “Luckily for me, as a Democrat, I believe in what my people want, because democracy is a recurrent suspicion whereby more than half the people should be right more than half the time. Let me be very honest with you. I’m APC. If for whatever reason my people believe that APC is not the party they want to do. My qualification in politics has not taken me to a position where I will ask people to do what they don’t want to do.”

He added that he remained open to assessing political developments as the 2027 election approaches, noting that stakeholders were “learning every day” about those with the capacity to lead.

Na’Allah had withdrawn from the APC senatorial primary in May, alleging the process had already been predetermined ahead of the exercise.
