Authorities in Kano State have arrested individuals posing as health workers for allegedly conducting an unauthorized medical outreach in parts of the state.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the operation followed complaints and intelligence indicating that the suspects were offering health services without the necessary approval or professional qualifications.
CDA News gathered from the report that officials shut down the illegal outreach to protect members of the public from potential health risks associated with unlicensed medical practice. The suspects are currently being investigated to determine the full extent of their activities and whether additional persons were involved.
The state government reiterated the importance of ensuring that all medical outreach programmes are conducted by qualified personnel and approved by the appropriate health authorities to safeguard public health.
Residents were also advised to verify the credentials of individuals or organisations offering free medical services and to report suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
The Kano authorities reaffirmed their commitment to enforcing health regulations and protecting citizens from illegal medical practices that could endanger lives.
