The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be released before midnight on Friday, April 17, 2026.
The announcement was made by the board’s Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, via a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter). It specifically concerns candidates who sat for the examination on the first day, Thursday, April 16, 2026. According to JAMB, an official announcement will be made on its platforms as soon as the results are fully processed and available for access.
“The 2026 UTME commenced nationwide on Thursday, with over 2.2 million candidates expected to sit for the examination across accredited Computer-Based Test centres from April 16 to April 22,” JAMB’s statement noted. The board has advised candidates to monitor its official communication channels for updates.
Upon release, candidates can check their results through two primary methods: by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration (charges apply), or by visiting the official JAMB portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng. The release of this first batch marks a crucial step for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions for the 2026 academic session.
