Controversial Nigerian entertainer Speed Darlington has appealed to Barr. Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, urging him to dissociate from Cubana ChiefPriest and other Igbo members of the City Boy Movement, while offering his services to secure votes in Imo State for the President’s 2027 re-election bid .
In a dramatic plea directed at the younger Tinubu, Speed Darlington requested: “Leave Cubana ChiefPriest and other Igbo guys in the City Boy Movement. Let’s link up and work together to make sure your father is re-elected in 2027. I am the one you need to secure votes in Imo State” .
The entertainer’s appeal comes amid the ongoing mobilization efforts of the City Boy Movement, a youth platform founded by Seyi Tinubu aimed at galvanizing young Nigerians, particularly in the South-East, to support President Tinubu’s re-election agenda .
The movement recently launched its Abia State chapter, with leaders including Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji and Don Lulu calling on Igbo youths to embrace the partnership offered by Seyi Tinubu as a pathway to political inclusion and regional development .
Speed Darlington’s intervention introduces a new dimension to the political realignments taking place within the South-East political space, as various interests jostle for relevance and influence ahead of the 2027 general elections .
His offer to deliver Imo State votes positions him as a potential player in the state’s increasingly competitive political landscape, though the entertainer’s actual political influence and grassroots reach remain subjects of speculation .
