FÈS – The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Monday night delivered a masterclass performance, defeating Mozambique 4–0 to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Victor Osimhen scored twice, while Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams added a goal each in a match where Nigeria dominated from start to finish.
Lookman, who was named Man of the Match for the second time in the tournament, opened the scoring in the 20th minute after being set up by Akor Adams.
Osimhen made it 2–0 five minutes later, tapping in from close range following Lookman’s driven cross.
After the break, Osimhen completed his brace in the 47th minute, again assisted by Lookman, before Adams blasted in Nigeria’s fourth in the 75th minute to complete the rout.
The Super Eagles have now scored 12 goals in the tournament—the highest so far—and will face the winner of Tuesday’s match between Algeria and DR Congo in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
