No Casualties as Fuel Tanker Fire Guts Vehicle in Lagos, LASEMA Confirms

LAGOS, Nigeria — The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that no lives were lost and no injuries were recorded after a Lagos fuel tanker fire at Ola Farm Bus Stop on Thursday.

CDA News Nigeria reports that emergency responders from LASEMA and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service swiftly extinguished the blaze, secured the scene, and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby homes, businesses, and other road users.

According to LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olawale Afolabi, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Nigeria Police Force from the Ikotun Division managed traffic and crowd control throughout the operation.

“We are grateful to report that there was no loss of life, and no casualties were recorded. The situation has been brought under control, and the fire fully extinguished,” Afolabi said.

LASEMA added that efforts were ongoing to evacuate the burnt tanker using heavy-duty equipment. The agency also urged motorists to obey speed limits, especially around speed bumps and residential areas, stressing that caution helps protect lives and property.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to disaster preparedness and rapid emergency response while commending all agencies and residents for their cooperation during the incident.
