Opah: I Represent a Credible Alternative of Honesty and Transparency in Abia

…Promises to Reverse Waste, Cut Taxes, Review Anti-People Policies

CDA News Nigeria reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Chief Eric Opah, has presented himself as the credible alternative of honesty and transparency, promising to reverse the culture of waste and greed in government if elected in 2027.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that Opah made the declaration while addressing members of the Abia Assurance Movement (AAM) in the state.

He challenged the group to critically assess the performance of the present administration against the N1.8 trillion total revenue received in three years. He asked whether Abians could honestly say the state was being managed well, citing poor worker pay, unpaid leave allowances, and pensioners receiving as little as N2,000 monthly.

Opah also questioned the claim of 24/7 power supply, noting that the governor’s immediate community had been without light for years. He criticised the administration for blaming “typographical errors” when caught in wrongdoing.

Presenting himself as a builder who grew a small business into an international enterprise, Opah promised to cut taxes, provide tax relief for businesses, review anti-Abians policies, and diversify the economy. He said his government would not pocket Abia resources while pretending to go after past administrations.

He warned against the “not going back to Egypt” slogan, saying those who have disappointed the people cannot lead them to a promised land.

In his vote of thanks, the AAM founder said the group would soon make its choice based on the candidate they believe would keep promises, noting they had been deceived too many times.
