The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports alleging that some of its candidates are threatening legal action against the party over internal political matters.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the PDP described the reports as misleading and inaccurate, insisting that no official position supports claims that candidates have issued threats of litigation against the party.
According to the party, it remains committed to resolving internal disagreements through its constitutional mechanisms and established dispute resolution processes. The PDP urged members and the public to disregard reports suggesting that its candidates are preparing legal action over party decisions.
The party maintained that consultations with stakeholders and candidates are ongoing to strengthen unity ahead of the 2027 general elections. It added that efforts are being intensified to ensure that all outstanding issues are resolved amicably in the interest of the party.
The clarification comes amid heightened political activities and realignments as parties conclude preparations for the forthcoming elections.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the PDP leadership reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy, dialogue and reconciliation, expressing confidence that members would continue to work together to achieve the party’s electoral objectives.
