The Nigeria Police Force has arraigned eleven suspects before a Federal Capital Territory court over the murder of ARISE News Channel anchor, Ms. Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu (Sommie), and a security guard, Mr. Barnabas Danlami.
The victims were killed during a robbery attack at their residence in the Unique Apartments, Katampe Extension, Abuja, on September 29, 2025. The suspects, including Shamsu Hassan, Sani Sirajo, and nine others, face a nine-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, and murder.
According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the court has adjourned the case until February 2026 for further hearing. The police urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities using provided emergency contact lines.
