Police Bust Sex Trafficking Syndicate, Rescue 15 Young Girls in Ondo

AKURE – The Ondo State Police Command has dismantled a notorious sex trafficking syndicate that exploited young women by luring them with fake job offers and promises of social media content creation.

According to the police spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, one Jayeola Joshua and two other suspects were arrested in an apartment in the Alagbaka area of Akure, where 15 young women, aged 20 to 26, were being held for illicit activities. The victims have been rescued and taken to a police hospital for medical care and psychological counseling.

Investigations revealed that the syndicate operated by recruiting victims from across the country with false promises of lucrative employment and overseas placements. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the prosecution of all suspects and the case has been transferred to the command’s Gender Desk for further investigation and victim support.
