Police Rescue Woman from Mob in Rivers Over False Kidnap Claim

Operatives of the Azikiwe Police Division in Port Harcourt have rescued a woman, Maria Kobara, from a mob that accused her of stealing and abducting a 12-year-old girl along Owo Street in Mile 2, Diobu.

The police rescue woman from mob in Rivers came just in time to save her from being lynched, according to an eyewitness, Mr. Nelson Ogiriya.

Ogiriya said he saw a crowd gathered and discovered that the woman was taking a 12-year-old girl to church when another woman stopped her and demanded to know who the child was to her.

Before the situation escalated, police arrived at the scene and whisked the suspect away to safety.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the true relationship between the woman and the minor. Police have urged citizens to avoid mob action and report suspicions to lawful authorities.
