The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre has shared an AI-generated image of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, frying and selling akara, days after her comments on small-scale businesses generated widespread reactions on social media.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the image, posted on the Presidency’s official social media platforms on Friday, portrays the First Lady at a roadside akara stand wearing an apron with the inscription, **”Iya Alakara, fueling the nation with love.”**
The post followed Senator Tinubu’s recent remarks that businesses such as frying akara, roasting corn and producing kuli kuli require relatively small start-up capital. She explained that the Federal Government was supporting such ventures through grants rather than loans to encourage entrepreneurship and improve livelihoods.
The AI-generated image has, however, reignited online debate. While some supporters described the post as a humorous response to criticism, others argued that it downplayed the economic challenges facing many Nigerians.
Several social media users also criticised the Presidency’s media team, with some questioning the decision to publish the AI-generated image amid ongoing public discussions over the First Lady’s comments.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the image continues to generate mixed reactions across social media, reflecting the sharp divide in public opinion over the government’s messaging and economic initiatives.
