The National Leader of the NDC, Seriake Dickson, has called on key opposition figures, including Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to remain committed to the party despite recent challenges.
Dickson’s appeal comes amid growing reactions to the court judgment affecting the NDC and speculations about the future of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former Bayelsa governor expressed confidence that the party would overcome its current legal hurdles and continue to serve as a credible platform for democratic participation and national development. He urged members and supporters not to be discouraged by temporary setbacks.
According to Dickson, the NDC was built on the principles of inclusiveness, reform, and good governance, stressing that unity among opposition leaders remains essential to strengthening democracy in Nigeria.
He also reiterated his commitment to working with Obi, Kwankwaso, and other stakeholders to build a formidable political movement capable of addressing the country’s socio-economic and governance challenges.
Political observers say Dickson’s remarks are aimed at reassuring party members and maintaining cohesion within the opposition bloc as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
