A resident has reportedly been killed while several cattle were rustled following a fresh bandit attack on a community in Kano State.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the attackers stormed the community in the early hours of the incident, opening fire and creating panic among residents before making away with an unspecified number of cattle.
Sources said the deceased was caught in the attack and died from gunshot injuries, while many residents fled to safety as the bandits operated for several minutes.
Security operatives were later deployed to the area, while efforts have reportedly commenced to track down the attackers and recover the stolen livestock. Residents have called on the government and security agencies to strengthen surveillance and improve security across vulnerable communities to prevent further attacks.
The latest incident has heightened concerns over the recurring cases of banditry, cattle rustling, and violent attacks affecting communities in parts of northern Nigeria.
Investigations into the attack are ongoing.
