Human rights organization Christian Solidarity Worldwide–Nigeria (CSW-N) has accused soldiers of blocking its fact-finding team from accessing Kurmin Wali community in Kaduna State, where over 100 worshippers were reportedly abducted from three churches on Sunday.
CSW-N insists the mass kidnapping occurred despite denials from the Kaduna State Police Commissioner and the Kajuru Local Government Chairman, who dismissed the reports as falsehoods spread by “conflict entrepreneurs.”
The group alleged that its team was stopped by a military convoy and told there was a “standing order” barring entry, despite presenting valid identification.
Local authorities claim they visited the community and found no evidence of an attack, with traditional rulers also denying the incident.
CSW-N maintains that 167 persons remain in captivity and criticized both state and federal governments for failing to protect rural communities from repeated attacks.
