Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma has congratulated the newly elected State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State following the successful conduct of the party’s state congress held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Umuahia .
Atuma described the emergence of the new executives led by Hon. Chijioke Chukwu as a positive step toward strengthening the party’s unity and structure across the state. He expressed confidence that the new leadership will reposition the party and deepen grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that he also commended the peaceful conduct of the congress, which attracted notable stakeholders including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu; the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; APC National Welfare Secretary, Donatus Nwankpa; and several former legislators and party leaders across the state .
The presence of these heavyweights underscored the growing unity within the Abia APC following the successful ward, local government, and state congresses conducted under a consensus arrangement .
Atuma urged party members to support the new executives to enable them deliver on their mandate and further strengthen the APC in Abia State. He wished the new State Working Committee a successful tenure and reaffirmed his commitment to the growth and progress of the party in the state .
The new Abia APC executive includes Hon. Chijioke Chukwu as Chairman, Chidi Avajah as Secretary, Uche Aguoru as Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jerry Awa as Youth Leader, and Cecilia Erondu as Woman Leader, among others .
