Minister of Works Dave Umahi has challenged supporters of former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, popularly known as Obidients, urging them to assess Obi’s record as Governor of Anambra State rather than rely on political sentiments.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Umahi questioned what Obi achieved during his tenure as governor, saying political campaigns should be based on measurable performance and verifiable records rather than emotions.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the minister made the remarks while addressing political supporters, where he maintained that public office holders should be evaluated based on their contributions to infrastructure, governance, and the welfare of citizens. He argued that Nigerians should compare the achievements of political leaders before making electoral decisions.
Umahi also defended the performance of the current administration, expressing confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would continue to earn public support ahead of the 2027 general elections. He urged party members to remain focused on grassroots mobilisation and the implementation of policies they believe will benefit Nigerians.
The remarks add to the growing political exchanges among major parties and their supporters as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum across the country.
