Uzodimma’s 3R Agenda, National Roles Reshaping Imo, Southeast Connection — APC Chieftain

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has emerged as a transformative leader whose “Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery” (3R) agenda is redefining governance in the Southeast while positioning him as a critical bridge between the region and the centre, according to Dr. Kodilichukwu Okelekwe, 2023 APC Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central.

In a piece published by The Nation, Okelekwe detailed Uzodimma’s infrastructure revolution, citing dualisation of the Owerri–Orlu and Owerri–Okigwe roads, over 120 roads across 27 LGAs, the Assumpta Flyover, and the International Conference Centre in Orlu as signature projects.

He highlighted the SkillUpImo Project, which has trained over 50,000 youths in software development, cybersecurity and data analytics, alongside the establishment of the University of Innovation, Science and Technology, Omuma, as evidence of a deliberate pivot from traditional empowerment to digital economy preparedness.

Other achievements listed include expanded health insurance coverage, rehabilitation of primary healthcare centres, a minimum wage of N104,000, introduction of a 13th-month salary, and automation of the payroll system to eliminate ghost workers. The “Light Up Imo” project and dredging of the Orashi River for maritime access were also cited.

Beyond Imo, Okelekwe underscored Uzodimma’s national influence as Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, where he has mobilised grassroots structures across 8,809 wards, 774 LGAs, and 36 states to support President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

“Through his bridge-building capacity and people-centred politics, Uzodimma has consolidated his place as one of the most influential Igbo political leaders in contemporary Nigeria,” Okelekwe wrote.
