A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has praised a recent Federal High Court judgment that affirmed constitutional processes in the party’s management. The group, operating as “Concerned Stakeholders of PDP,” described the ruling as a step toward restoring discipline and internal democracy.
In a communiqué read by former Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, the faction commended the judiciary for upholding the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines. The court validated Chief Dan Osi Orbih as the authentic National Vice Chairman (South-South) and nullified the appointment of Chief Emmanuel Ogidi. It also upheld the expulsion of Ali Odefa, reinforcing that expelled members cannot represent the party.
The judgment emphasized that official party correspondence must be jointly signed by the National Chairman and National Secretary, with the latter as the principal signatory. It also stated that no valid national convention can proceed without full compliance with legal and party guidelines.
The faction reiterated its commitment to the ruling and expressed openness to reconciliation, urging members to join efforts to restore the PDP’s founding ideals.
