The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has firmly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu, challenging critics who question his political allegiance.
Speaking during a media parley in Port Harcourt on Monday, Wike emphasized that his endorsement of Tinubu has been public and consistent.
“I have said it openly. I’m working for Tinubu, how could anyone doubt that?” he stated.
The former Rivers State governor dismissed speculation about divisions within his political camp and denied reports of a contentious meeting involving the President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and other leaders in Abuja.
“It was alleged that there was a meeting that broke out in Abuja. No, there was no such thing,” he clarified.
Wike also addressed the broader issue of political trust, criticizing politicians who fail to keep their word.
“Most people don’t trust politicians because they don’t keep their word… When I say something, I go home and sleep. Everyone knows that once I’ve said what I would do, I’ll stand by it,” he affirmed.
He called on political leaders to act with honesty and conscience, particularly in addressing internal disagreements away from public scrutiny.
